Spring has definitely arrived

The north wind may be incredibly cold but it is Spring. How do I know? Well just look what we spotted a few minutes ago whilst walking to and around the salt pans.

First the House Martins (Andorinho-dos-beirais)

Then the Swallows (Andorinha-das-chaminés) with the odd House Martin there too!

It had been a good life walking, cooking, photographing, volunteering, blogging, and best of all spending time with MrB, family, & friends. Sadly it is no longer what it was, as suddenly and unexpectedly I became a widow.

      1. Yes, I have a post ready from my observations round here but they are being prevented from nesting in their usual places at the moment.

        1. Are you discouraging them or is someone else? My brother always discourages them but my parents used to decide that a little mess was inconsequential compared to the joy of watching them build and then watching the young.

        2. No, others are along the front where they do little mess really and a neighbour where the nests were not on a balcony. It can be messy on a balcony!
