Porco com Ameijoas á Alentejana

One of the best things about Portugal is their food, particularly their pork and fish. The quality is outstanding.  So much better than what you seem to be able to find in English restaurants and supermarkets. Our preference when in Portugal is to eat like a local which is why I am so delighted to have discovered Diogo’s blog which aims to show to the world Portuguese cuisine.

The dish I am sharing with you in this ‘reblog’ is “Porco com Ameijoas á Alentejana”and Diogo informs us that despite its name it is originally from Algarve. It is superb, and from my recollection each town, village and restaurant has its own slight variation. To read the original post and to find out more on how to Eat Like a Portuguese click on any of the links in this post and you will be taken to Diogo’s blog. A lovely place to spend your Saturday morning and to discover why Portuguese food is so great. Thanks again to Diogo for allowing me to reblog from his site.

It had been a good life walking, cooking, photographing, volunteering, blogging, and best of all spending time with MrB, family, & friends. Sadly it is no longer what it was, as suddenly and unexpectedly I became a widow.
