You will recall the other day I posted about birding in the right place at the right time, well very very occasionally this happens as I step out onto the balcony. I think this might be the third time we have observed this spectacle at sunset over the past three years. It is an extraordinary sight which lasts less than 10minutes.
If you haven’t already do click on the photographs to see them properly in the gallery. I realise even then they are not perfectly focused or clear but this was taking place about half a mile away from us and my Nikon P510 does struggle with that distance. Hopefully though if you view through the gallery you will get a sense of the drama taking place.
Next week I should have a new camera so if it happens again and I am lucky enough again to be in the right place at the right time we will be in for a treat.
What a meeting of long legged beauties! Good food supply?
We think there was a shoal of fish….but not sure as so many of the birds seemed to be watching rather than fishing.
