Spring is in the air

I knew about the river, and I knew about the narrow medieval streets and narrow buildings but what I had not expected were all the magnolias. It is one of my favourite trees and it seems Porto has planted them everywhere. I couldn’t resist them, and thanks to Nancy’s photography challenge this week I have a great excuse to share them with you.

There will be plenty of more posts coming over the new few weeks and months on Porto as whilst we were only there 4 full days we packed quite a bit in, including a lovely day trip to Aveiro. For now though here are a few more of Porto’s magnolias.

It had been a good life walking, cooking, photographing, volunteering, blogging, and best of all spending time with MrB, family, & friends. Sadly it is no longer what it was, as suddenly and unexpectedly I became a widow.

  1. They are gorgeous, like pretty pink ballerinas. They must look so delightful against the whitewashed houses.

  2. Fabulous! 🙂 🙂 Glimpsed this just as we were boarding at the airport but no time to comment. Gentle evening sunshine now. All is not lost. Enjoy your time at home and we’ll see you soon.

    1. What luck it was! Now know though for future visits ☺ just wonderful to see so many. There were also camellias in the parks but that’s another post!!
