Christmas past

I thought I’d take a look back at my Christmastide posts over the past two years, if I begin with 2016 as that is when my header photograph was taken.Happy Reindeer

Christmas in Portugal takes place on 24th, today is not such a big day as it is in England. There is also no Boxing Day, however they do make much more of epiphany than we do. Just take a look at these two posts, this was such an amazing event.

The middle one is a saddle not a hump!!

Our very first Christmas in Portugal was the previous year, and we enjoyed a lovely walk on Christmas Day. It was quite busy out but fortunately there were still lots of birdies.  A few days earlier we had been delighted by something quite different, our first Presépio Gigante. 2015 was also the year I discovered that poinsettias can grow very large and that they happily grow outside in a southern European climate.

I suspect yours is not quite as big as this!

Wishing all my wonderful readers Feliz Natal!

It had been a good life walking, cooking, photographing, volunteering, blogging, and best of all spending time with MrB, family, & friends. Sadly it is no longer what it was, as suddenly and unexpectedly I became a widow.

  1. I didn’t see that Header! I just spotted it in your sidebar now and thought ‘ooh, that’s nice’ and followed the link. 🙂 🙂

  2. We used to have a poinsettia growing in our garden in Cape Town, I have disliked the pot grown ones ever since!! Christmas in Portugal does look attractive. Maybe one day I’ll join you and Jo there.
