As I think I explained in back in March our return to Portugal hasn’t happened this year. There was a hope we might able to make travel plans for the Autumn but Septimus had other ideas, so here we remain in England.
I had pondered putting this travel blog on hold until our return but today’s quick dip into the archives has highlighted I still have a wealth of photographs to share. So over the forthcoming months I plan to occasionally share memories of our travels. In the meanwhile I thought I would share this quick update on our travel situation, and also a few links for the latest Covid-19 advice.
- For most of 2020 the UK Government continues to advise British national against all but essential international travel. As of today there are some countries exempted from this guidance including Madeira and the Azores (but not mainland Portugal) however I strongly recommend checking the complete list before making any travel plans.
- The UK Government continues to regularly review and update their travel guidance, so rather then list the latest guidance which might be out of date within hours of posting it. I recommend you visit the official guidance here.
- Numbers had also been rising in Portugal, but in recent weeks it would seem things are improving. They certainly seem to be taking a more structured approach to managing Covid-19 and the restrictions than the UK. Here’s their latest situation report and you will find the guidance here.
Today’s post has also been a great excuse to join in with the Squares Challenge on my other blog as these two shots have kindled my interest again in preparing posts for this blog! So hopefully it will not be too long before another post appears.
