Think I’ll let the photographs speak for themselves. They are all from today’s tradicional Procissão do Senhor dos Passos in Olhao (Procession of the Lord of the Steps).
The procession began after Mass in Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário. From Restoration Square it weaved its way to the sea front. There were a few stops on the way including a short ceremony at an ‘altar’ close to the markets. One of the most important stops was the Blessing of the Sea. The procession then returned to Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário via a different route and apparently included another ceremony on the Avenue of the Republic.
