I knew about the river, and I knew about the narrow medieval streets and narrow buildings but what I had not expected were all the magnolias. It is one of my favourite trees and it seems Porto has planted them everywhere. I couldn’t resist them, and thanks to Nancy’s photography challenge this week I have a great excuse to share them with you.
There will be plenty of more posts coming over the new few weeks and months on Porto as whilst we were only there 4 full days we packed quite a bit in, including a lovely day trip to Aveiro. For now though here are a few more of Porto’s magnolias.
They are gorgeous, like pretty pink ballerinas. They must look so delightful against the whitewashed houses.
Oh what a lovely way to describe them. They were so gorgeous and interestingly all pink!
Fabulous! π π Glimpsed this just as we were boarding at the airport but no time to comment. Gentle evening sunshine now. All is not lost. Enjoy your time at home and we’ll see you soon.
Thank you so much and so pleased to hear the evening ended well. Sunset looked gorgeous from the air!
