I am a fan of flamingos

We see regularly Phoenicopterus now in the Algarve, but each and every time I see them it feels special. It might explain why this is seventh dedicated post on them! To celebrate it here are seven we spotted the other day in the fish pond.

These are not the greatest shots I have taken of this bird, but I simply couldn’t resist capturing their bath time.

If you love them as much as I do then do explore my list below as you’ll find some fantastic shots in some of the other posts.

And if you are a fan of something why not join Jez with his weekly ‘Fan Of‘ challenge.

It had been a good life walking, cooking, photographing, volunteering, blogging, and best of all spending time with MrB, family, & friends. Sadly it is no longer what it was, as suddenly and unexpectedly I became a widow.

  1. Olhao Salinas have 3 groups at least, at present, 2 in the southerly lagoons and one, markedly pinker, actually in the productive lagoon, closer to the salt mountain.
These are aloof and stay firmly within ithat patch.

In our years in France, the progeny were fascinated with the stories of the Camarge, misty, fighting bulls and flams , so we drove down.
The bulls and horses no problem, but not the flams.
On our return to the Vienne, we had to pass through Sete and in the dirtiest power station lagoon were hundreds.
