I am still waiting for the perfect shot of this bird, but at least we have been incredibly fortunate enough to see Ospreys most years in and around the Ria Formosa. You may recall my previous posts;
- Wise is the cow (& osprey) that lives in the Baixo Guadiana
- Flying in the Wind above the Ria Formosa
- Birds of Prey in the East Algarve
The reason I say we are fortunate is that despite these coastal waters being good feeding grounds, Pandion haliaetus remain critically endangered in Portugal, and are also still on the amber list in the UK. This bird is most likely a passing or wintering migrant.
Birds don’t like to pose for me. They see my camera and fly away! 🙂
A very good zoom lens helps me!
LOL! Pretty birds help too!
One day the Osprey will be just there ready for you to photograph 🙂
I hope so!
When you get here I’ll take you somewhere you can get Eastern Osprey photos 🙂
that would be amazing
Going to miss you!
I’ll be there the following Saturday, and maybe we can chat on the Monday x
That would be good!
Will email, which reminds me I must email with the FFP2 mask info too.
Looking forward to going back to Portugal. 😀 😀
Really am, just got everything crossed we make it. So many tests tp pass to get there!
